The Aquatic Center at Palo Alto College is a joint effort with the City of San Antonio to bring a one-of-a-kind facility to San Antonio.  The Aquatic Center includes a variety of unique features and has hosted a number of high caliber competitions, including the U.S. Olympic Festival and several NCAA Championships.  It features a heated 18 foot dive well with two 1 meter and two 3 meter diving boards plus platforms at 5, 7.5, and 10 meters with a sparger system in place.
(A sparger system is a training tool that uses compressed air to lessen the impact that a diver feels when entering the water.  This compressed air rises to the surface, aerating the water and creating a softer landing surface for the diver during training.)
